Synthesis: With the barrage of distractions thrown at these already-overloaded learners, we are faced with the challenge to help them focus on what is necessary, must-learn, what is of immediate relevance and content that is rapidly applicable to their jobs and tasks at hand. My goal here is to provide helpful tips to engage our learners’ attention and achieve our learning objectives.
How do we use the Learner's Glasses to our advantage? What steps can you take to find out what really matters to your learners?
How do trainers and designers help learners love what they learn and do? Contrary to the practice of "I must teach, since learners don't know any better" belief, our learners do love learning and have accumulated knowledge and experiences.
How do we make sense of the huge barrage of information that we encounter on a daily basis? We need to let go of  the need to know everything. We need to train our learners and leaders to resist the tendency to dump content. We need to help learners focus on usefulness and context of the content. We need to design and deliver training and elearning programs to reflect this principle. Keywords: Story-based Design Story Storytelling Microlearning Micro-learning Micro learning Small bites
