I think getting the quick answers is important but it's more important to post those somewhere and have people review to make sure the answer is optimal/approved/repeatable/etc. I think what happens now is people can get their answers quickly enough but then don't process them or publish and so it gets forgotten and becomes a question/answer thing again the next time and the next time.
Sadly I have seen that happen a time or two. That is why during our new software rollout we actually have a training person assigned to the SCRUM and defect meetings so she feeds me the nice to know or ought to know information she picks up from the meeting and I can incorporate it right away into our online training modules; no waiting on an official memo to come out about it so we stay one step ahead on these things.
