This is the sixth exercise of the workshop. For workers to scale their capabilities they often do testing, trial and error, and successive approximation on how to fix, solve and improve work issues. They calculate the risks and mitigate negative impacts. In the “testing, trial and error and successive approximation process’, they discover and learn how to improve work. The purpose of the exercise is to help you and your learners and workers use a method of Successive Approximation. The method helps workers expand their capacities by continuously learning and finding solutions.  You may use the work issue from previous exercises or pick a new work issue as your focus in the exercise.

Pre instructions: The goal in this exercise is not perfection, but rather, testing and learning. Begin by thinking about the context of the situation and the test/experiment you want to conduct. Before taking action, think about what you expect to learn or what you anticipate to be the outcome of the test. Next, it’s time to test and experiment! What did you learn and observe, whether expected or unexpected? This is the basis or your results. From here, you can take what you’ve learned to begin the cycle again to learn even more.

Instructions: Using the Testing, Trial, and Error Exercise, complete the form to work through an experiment related to the problem you identified in the previous exercises.
